Inanna is the most important Goddess of the Sumerian pantheon in ancient Mesopotamia. She is the Goddess of love, fertility, and war. She is the Goddess of the morning and evening star and presides over the birth of both night and day.
Inanna have created one of the most effective astronomical myths. Inanna or the Nahid appears just before sunrise or after sundown in the sky. When this star shows off after sundown in the west, is the symbol of love and when appears just before the sunset in the east, is the symbol of war.
Inanna as the most important Goddess of the near east and western Asia, her symbol is the eight-pointed star. Important sanctuaries of Inanna were in Uruk and Babylon. The Acadians and the Smites honored her as Ishtar.
