Lotus flower is a common symbol in eastern cultures especially in India, Japan, Iran, Egypt, and China. In many of these cultures, it has similar meanings. Mostly lotus flower signifies purity, fertility, enlightenment, creation, and above all perfection. Searching through photos and images of the historical constructions and crafts of ancient Iran and ancient Japan, some similarities could be found. In this project, I have focused on the enlightenment of lotus, that it emblems light and sun. As lotus flower bloom with sunrise and closes at sundown it is a metaphor for the sun. Sun is the godly source of life so I have chosen the name Forough for this work.  
The word Forough has Persian root. The meaning of the word is brightness, sunshine, radiation, fire, etc.
